Organic cotton is a great natural fibre for this.
Organic cotton is carbon neutral and can be grown without the use of pesticides and toxic chemicals, meaning that it’s good for the planet and good for your overall health. We’ve put together some of our favourite budget-friendly brands for organic cotton basics below.

Aussie brand Vegethreads have just dropped their A/W collection and we are obsessed.
Rich, earthy tones run throughout this collection of GOTS certified 100% cotton basics, which is organically dyed and knitted locally to the brand in Melbourne.

As the name suggests, Organic Basics offer all the basics made from organic materials you need in your wardrobe. Each piece is made from soft GOTS certified organic cotton and manufactured in ethical working conditions. The basic white tee is a staple of our wardrobe.
For each item bought at Tentree, the brand will plant ten trees (hence Tentree – clever huh), with an aim to plant 1 billion trees by 2030. All products are made from sustainable materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, hemp and Tencell, designed to be comfortable and function and when you shop online each product displays an ‘eco-log’, so you can be reassured in the impact your purchase is making.
